An international lay organization that is parish-based, the St. Simon St. Vincent De Paul Society is committed to the service of the poor and needy in our local community. They visit the poor in teams to provide whatever help they can. Absolute confidentiality is maintained, as well as respect for the person requesting their help.
The society meets on the second Wednesday of every month. New members are always welcome.
FOOD COLLECTION FOR THE NEEDY
On the last weekend of each month, food and paper products are collected for our St. Vincent de Paul Society; overflow is distributed to Affton Christian Food Pantry (whom St. Simon is affiliated with) and other pantries. An additional food collection takes place at Thanksgiving and in July. Anyone donating these items may place them in the Simon Room on this last weekend, Thanksgiving or the on the July collection date.
COAT AND BLANKET DRIVE
The Saint Simon Conference of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society will be collecting CLEAN, usable coats and blankets of all sizes. You may put your donations in the collection barrels set up in the church foyer. We will collect coats and blankets from November 10 to 19. We are also accepting CLEAN, new or used gloves, mittens, scarves and winter hats. There will also be barrels available in the school and Simon Says for your donations. The coats and blankets will be distributed to organizations serving the south county area and the SVDP Conference in Park Hills, MO. Please help us keep our brothers and sisters in Christ warm this winter. Thank you for your support.
